Senior Sustainability Consultant

The Role

We are excited to invite applications for the position of Senior Sustainability Consultant at Adelie. In this role, you will help shape the strategy and direction of our business while working directly with clients across a range of industries, helping them navigate the complexities of sustainability with clarity, purpose, and impact. Projects span a wide spectrum — from climate risk assessments and sustainability reporting to sustainability strategy and certifications (B Corp, EcoVadis, PRI etc.). A successful candidate will bring a strong track record, network and willingness of ownership within one of these fields to drive forward the business.

We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in the sustainability landscape and proven experience in delivering high-quality consultancy work. This role is ideal for someone who brings not only technical expertise but also an entrepreneurial mindset and the ambition to take ownership of a key area of expertise. Key Responsibilities

  • Expand the business through ownership within your field of expertise, bringing in new clients and building your own team.

  • Advise clients on your area of expertise, while supporting the team on delivering projects that benefit from your unique expertise, perspective and high-quality consultancy.

  • Provide thought leadership within your area of expertise, positioning yourself and Adelie as a trustworthy voice and source of reliable information.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, impactful delivery and support knowledge-sharing across the business.

  • Mentor junior team members and actively contribute to our inclusive, purpose-driven culture and continued growth.

What You Bring

  • A Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Geography, Economics, or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in sustainability for the private sector

  • A solid understanding of the sustainability ecosystem, standards, certifications and policy developments, with a clear area of expertise in one of them.

  • An established network within the sustainability ecosystem and the willingness and ability to engage contacts and bring new clients to the business.

  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable taking ownership of projects and contributing to service development.

  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German or French is a plus.
