Climate Specialist
The Role
We are excited to invite applications for the position of Climate Specialist at Adelie. In this role, you will work directly with clients across a variety of sectors, helping them quantify their climate impact, assess physical and transition risks, and develop science-based strategies for decarbonisation and resilience.
You will contribute to a range of high-impact projects, from GHG accounting and decarbonisation roadmaps to climate and nature-related risk assessments. Your work will be grounded in leading global frameworks and will play a critical role in shaping the strategies of businesses committed to aligning with a net-zero and nature-positive future.
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation in climate science, emissions accounting, and climate risk analysis—paired with experience applying this knowledge in a consultancy or corporate setting. This is a great opportunity for someone with a growth mindset and a desire to lead and shape our climate services offering.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver climate-related projects, including GHG inventories (Scopes 1–3), decarbonisation pathways, and target-setting aligned with frameworks like SBTi and the GHG Protocol.
Conduct climate risk assessments aligned with TCFD and emerging nature risk frameworks (e.g., TNFD), integrating physical and transition risks into strategic insights.
Support clients in understanding and complying with regulatory requirements and standards such as ESRS, CSRD, and other climate disclosure mandates.
Develop internal tools, models, and approaches to strengthen Adelie’s Climate & Net-Zero service offering.
Contribute to business development efforts through proposal writing, thought leadership, and identifying new opportunities for impact.
Collaborate with and mentor colleagues across disciplines, and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive, and purpose-driven team culture.
What You Bring
A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Climate Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in GHG accounting, climate risk analysis, or decarbonisation strategy—ideally in a consulting or corporate context.
Strong working knowledge of frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, TCFD, ESRS/CSRD, and emerging nature-related standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex climate data into clear, actionable insights.
Confident communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable taking ownership of projects and contributing to service development.
