Climate Specialist

The Role

We are excited to invite applications for the position of Climate Specialist at Adelie. In this role, you will work directly with clients across a variety of sectors, helping them quantify their climate impact, assess physical and transition risks, and develop science-based strategies for decarbonisation and resilience.

You will contribute to a range of high-impact projects, from GHG accounting and decarbonisation roadmaps to climate and nature-related risk assessments. Your work will be grounded in leading global frameworks and will play a critical role in shaping the strategies of businesses committed to aligning with a net-zero and nature-positive future.

We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation in climate science, emissions accounting, and climate risk analysis—paired with experience applying this knowledge in a consultancy or corporate setting. This is a great opportunity for someone with a growth mindset and a desire to lead and shape our climate services offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver climate-related projects, including GHG inventories (Scopes 1–3), decarbonisation pathways, and target-setting aligned with frameworks like SBTi and the GHG Protocol.

  • Conduct climate risk assessments aligned with TCFD and emerging nature risk frameworks (e.g., TNFD), integrating physical and transition risks into strategic insights.

  • Support clients in understanding and complying with regulatory requirements and standards such as ESRS, CSRD, and other climate disclosure mandates.

  • Develop internal tools, models, and approaches to strengthen Adelie’s Climate & Net-Zero service offering.

  • Contribute to business development efforts through proposal writing, thought leadership, and identifying new opportunities for impact.

  • Collaborate with and mentor colleagues across disciplines, and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive, and purpose-driven team culture.

What You Bring

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Climate Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in GHG accounting, climate risk analysis, or decarbonisation strategy—ideally in a consulting or corporate context.

  • Strong working knowledge of frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, TCFD, ESRS/CSRD, and emerging nature-related standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex climate data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Confident communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable taking ownership of projects and contributing to service development.

  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German is a plus.

We encourage applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Our aim is to build a team that represents a wide array of demographics, including ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability and age.

If you are passionate about making a positive impact in an inclusive environment, we encourage you to apply. Together, we can create innovative solutions that serve our diverse community.
